The Challenge
Motability, the UK charity providing mobility solutions to disabled people, required a durable, high-performance anti-slip solution for its Harlow headquarters. With frequent visitors, including wheelchair users and those with visual impairments, the existing non-slip painted staircases were failing due to heavy use and exposure to the elements. Flaking paint and icy conditions created a significant safety hazard for staff and visitors.
The Solution
Porcher Abrasive Coatings installed TreadSafe stair treads and bespoke half-moon landing covers, providing a permanent anti-slip solution. The components were manufactured from 1.5mm stainless steel with a medium-profile abrasive grit, temperature bonded and finished with weatherproof paint.
